MP Shelby-Kramp Neuman has announced she is running for re-election in the newly-mapped riding of Hastings, Lennox, Addington and Tyendinega.

In a news release yesterday, Kramp-Neuman spoke of ‘nine years of inflationary spending and increasing taxes’, referring to Mark Carney as the ‘unelected and unaccountable architect of the carbon tax.’

“For the past nine years Canada’s Conservatives have called for responsible budgets, energy independence, increased military support, tearing down inter-provincial trade barriers, and most importantly, scrapping the carbon tax.”

Kramp-Neuman went on to note that after the liberals had actively opposed these policies they had suddenly done ‘an about face’.

“They didn’t do it because it is the right thing to do, but because they think it’s what they have to say to be re-elected. It is said that “the best indicator of future performance is past performance”, and the high spending, anti-energy, anti-military, soft on crime, pro-carbon tax track record of this government, with Mark Carney fully on board as Trudeau’s personal financial advisor, should tell you what to expect from a Carney-led government.”

Kramp-Neuman concluded by saying that her first and only priority was to represent and support those in this riding.

“If I am given the opportunity to return to Ottawa, I will continue to fight for a fair and affordable future for all our communities.”
