Lincoln Soma, the owner of what was Leon’s Bancroft, has said the store will stay open, now running as Bancroft Furniture and Appliances.
As of Thursday afternoon the ‘Open’ sign is lit up and the doors are open. The Leon’s sign no longer hangs above the door and all branding of Leon’s appears to be removed. Soma has said there will be no staffing changes at this time.
Leon’s Head Office had announced Wednesday that the Bancroft location was ‘temporarily closed’ on Wednesday.
Communications representative for Leon’s Thalia Policicchio, informed my Bancroft Now on June 13 that the franchise agreement between Leon’s and the owner had been terminated.
Soma told Moose FM that the decision to no longer run the Bancroft location as a Leon’s franchise was ‘mutual’. Soma said he felt he would be better able to suit the needs of the ‘cottage country’ market by operating independently.
In a news release dated June 12, Leon’s had announced “strategic changes to enhance customer experience and streamline operations in the Bancroft market.”
They continued to say that a dedicated Leon’s team at home office would facilitate the fulfillment of orders already placed by customers in a timely manner.
“Leon’s has been a part of the Bancroft community for over 18 years,” said Lewis Leon, President of Leon’s, “and we are committed to continuing to serve the community with exceptional service and merchandise assortment.”
Leon’s says they have added additional customer service support which is available via email at [email protected] or by phone at 1-866-448-5415 between 9 am and 5 pm EST.
Leon’s says that they will continue to service the Bancroft community online through the Leon’s website at www.leons.ca.
