Breaking News: Flash Flood in downtown Bancroft

A flood, allegedly caused by a beaver dam breaking in Copper lake** has made parts of downtown Bancroft impassible and caused businesses to close.

Significant flooding of buildings has occurred. My Bancroft Now has reached out to Emergency services and the Town of Bancroft and will update when we have more information.

Emergency Services are on site.

According to a bystander a part of Cleak Street where it meets Madawaska Street is washed out.

They have reported to My Bancroft Now that the Fire Department is currently sandbagging the apartment building next to Shoppers Drugmart.

The Fire Department is also currently pumping the water out from around Dave’s Place as well as sandbagging.

There are road closures in the area of Cleak Street, Madawaska Street and Woodview Lane.
