Police want you to know who you should be calling if you need help or need to report something.
This comes after a presentation made to Bancroft Council Tuesday afternoon. The delegation reviewed numbers that residents should call, whether it be 911, 411, 311, or 211.
The presentation, which was put together by the Bancroft Area Support, Northing Hastings Family Support, and OPP, provides guild lines on which numbers to call depending on your scenario.
Residents can call 211 for things like getting information about things in the area like employment, health care, housing and mental health.
For issues like roads, waste water and recreation centres, it’s suggested to call the Town Office at 613-332-3331 to inquire.
Finally, it’s suggested you only call 911 if there is an emergency. For example, the presentation outlines scenarios where someone may be at risk and they need to call 911 to reach either firefighters, police or paramedics. For non-emergencies, you can report them at either 1-888-310-1122 or through the OPP’s online reporting.
