Senior issues discussed at Bancroft all candidates meeting

Senior issues were a hot topic at last night’s all candidates meeting in Bancroft.

Residents filled the Royal Canadian Legion to see Hastings-Lennox and Addington’s four candidates discuss issues affecting Bancroft.  The North Hastings Economic Development Committee and the Bancroft and District Chamber of Commerce joined forces to put on the event.

When it comes to making life easier for seniors, Green Party candidate Cam Mather says his party supports a national pharmacare program.  New Democratic Party candidate Betty Bannon says her party will decrease the retirement age from 67-years-old to 65-years-old.  Liberal Party candidate Mike Bossio says his party will invest in affordable housing for seniors.  Incumbent Conservative candidate Daryl Kramp says his government is committed to seniors through funding like the Horizons for Seniors Program.
