High School students across the region head to Algonquin Park for Youth Summit

The Youth Environmental summit at Algonquin Park tomorrow welcomes high schoolers to learn more about career opportunities in environmental fields.
Bancroft Area Stewardship Council in partnership with Trent University is hosting at the visiting centre, near Whitney.
Ian Hendry of the stewardship council said it’s the second time they helped facilitate after 2023.
“We are bussing in around 200 high school students from local schools and as far away as Huntsville, Halliburton and Coburg…. “
Hendry says there will be about 15 keynote speakers.
“They’ll have representatives there to talk with the students and give them advice on what courses they could take. There’ll be people from the Ministry of Natural Resources there, people from the logging industry will be there, to show the students some options.”
You can learn more about the Bancroft Area Stewardship Council on their website.
