The Prom Project boutique will be opening up tomorrow at North Hastings High School.
The initiative aims to make formal wear accessible to all area students and youth by creating a fun shopping experience with gifted items.
High School secretary Nanda Eastman says there is a great selection of items available.
“We have had a bunch of dresses and formal wear, suits and ties, pants donated. We’ve had a local company donate some beauty products and jewelry. Anybody is welcome to come find a dress free for graduation, if they have a wedding coming up.”
“We have some smaller sizes and even if it’s a grade 6 that’s celebrating moving on to a new school or grade 8 (for example)…they’re more than welcome to come.”
Eastman noted there have been some great items donated through both the prom project organization and local families.
She adds more donations are also welcome.
“If you have something that’s in good shape, that’s kind of ‘ in time ‘, not too dated, if you think it would be something that a student would like to wear, they’re more than welcome to bring it in. They can bring shoes, purses, scarves, anything like that.”
Those interested in checking out the prom project can come by North Hastings High school between 3 and 7 p.m. this Thursday.
