The Bancroft Home Hardware, known for many years by locals as ‘Wade’s” has been a cornerstone of the community since 1972 when Ernie Wade converted the original Dominion Hardware into a Home Hardware store.
The store was run by the Wade family for 50 years, until 2021 when it transitioned from Andy Wade to new owners Ian and Tara McNaughton.
“We are honoured to be recognized with the Award” said Ian McNaughton, Dealer-Owner, Bancroft Home Hardware, telling My Bancroft Now:
“We really consider ourselves stewards of what was a great team with the Wade’s and we’re just continuing the legacy. We have three stores and Bancroft, they’re just phenomenal: The personalities, the people, the team spirit is just off the charts.”
McNaughton went on to also gives credit to the store’s product line.
“Wanting to be dominant in the product categories that we deem important to Bancroft like paint and plumbing. Bancroft has probably the best paint and plumbing selections in the province.”
Several team members and management from Home Hardware Bancroft went to Toronto to celebrate and receive the award which was announced on September 12th.
Bancroft Home Hardware was one of 18 stores across Canada recognized with a Proud of My Home Achievement Award.
