OPP located a 33-year-old male wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
The federal offender, unlawfully at large, was taken back into custody, southwest of Tweed.
The OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad found the person in the Thomasburg area Aug. 30.
He fled on foot into the bush when officers arrived.
The search included the emergency response team and a canine unit and lasted several hours.
OPP issued a social media advisory for people to stay in their homes as a precaution but the male did not pose an imminent public safety risk.
The male was located and taken into custody without further incident.
The male was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching statutory release conditions, and will be returned to a federal correctional facility.
