Bancroft’s free concerts in the park start Wednesday with first-ever ‘Community Night’

The Mineral Capital Concert series begins this Wednesday with a performance by North Hastings Community Band and The Joyful Ringers.

Concerts will take place at the Bandshell in Millenium Park every Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.

The popular series hosts a great selection of talent for ten weeks every summer, from much loved local acts to bigger names. Featured acts in the past have included The Shuffle Demons, Stephen Fearing, David Francey, Rick Fines and Jane Bunnett.

Community Night is June 26, as it specifically celebrates the talent of local residents, featuring hand bell choir, The Joyful Ringers, lead by Wendy Taxis and the North Hasting Community Band, lead by Fred Henderson. The community band is an all-ages concert band that says their aim is to ‘bring the joy of music to the community for both members and the audience.’
