Bancroft’s rainbow crosswalk gets a re-do for Pride month

The Town of Bancroft has recognized Pride month by recreating the rainbow crosswalk in front of the post office.

In his June comments, Mayor Paul Jenkins called Pride month a ‘global celebration of history, resilience, and achievement of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, bringing people from all walks of life together to honor inclusivity, diversity, respect and equality.’

The crosswalk was originally painted in June, 2019. After it was approved by council, hundreds of residents showed up to help paint the rainbow colors at the crosswalk on Station Street.

According to the town, the crosswalk has now been repainted with ‘enhanced durable materials to sustain its appearance and longevity.’
