The Town of Bancroft has announced a partnership in the construction of the library and affordable housing project in Bancroft.
They will be working with Rural Roots Property development, who they say are developing a similar project north of Tweed.
The town stated they are happy to join with Rural Roots to create much needed affordable housing in Bancroft.
Rural Routes Development is currently constructing Bridgewater Apartments a housing complex in Actinolite which they say will contain a mix of affordable and market housing in a 24 unit, three-story building.
According to Rural Roots, affordable units work to a goal of 70-80 per cent of median market rent and they will work with Hastings County to assist tenants experiencing affordability challenges.
Construction of the Library and housing project in Bancroft is expected to begin in the fall.
