Most local snowmobile trails closing for the season

Most local snowmobile clubs are closing up for the season with almost all trails now marked unavailable, with the exception Opeongo snow birds trails (that run from Whitney towards Barrys Bay).

We spoke with Maple Leaf Snow Skimmer Steve Lang who praised all local trail clubs work during what was a challenging season,

“I really can’t remember so many unavailable trails even in the in the north” Said Lang, but the five area Bancroft and Barry’s Bay clubs, they did a great job opening an interconnected trail system. That made our trails very busy and we got some great comments on providing such a good system.”

While most trails are closed a recent posts from The Opeongo Snowbirds says that while its been tough grooming, for now they are hanging on till the last flake stops falling for the season.
