Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are expected to be available to the general public by the end of the month.
That, from Hastings & Prince Edward Public Health which is urging people to get the shots, as soon as they’re eligible.
Both vaccines are now being made available to people in high-risk groups. Pharmacies and primary-care providers are distributing the shots.
Health officials recommend those still waiting take measures to protect themselves, such as frequent handwashing and covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ethan Toumishey says, “vaccines continue to be the most effective way to reduce risk of severe illness associated with both flu and COVID-19.”
