Bancroft Rockhounds announce leave from GMHL

The Bancroft Rockhounds will not hit the ice this year.

The team announced on Facebook it will take a leave from the Greater Metro Hockey League for the 2023-2024 season.

A post says, “We would like to thank all of our players, family, volunteers, staff and fans for your understanding and support. Watch for the Rockhounds return next season.”

MyBancroftNow contacted team officials, but they offered no comment.

The Rockhounds are a junior hockey team that draws players from across Canada and even other countries.

The franchise came to Bancroft in 2019, providing local hockey fans a chance to see high-caliber hockey at the North Hastings Community Centre.
