Suspect arrested in Tudor and Cashel after domestic disturbance

The Central Hastings OPP detachment got reports of shots being fired early Sunday morning in Tudor and Cashel Township.

Shortly before 1:30 AM, officers with the Central Hastings OPP detachment responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and that shots had been fired at a home off of Highway 62 in Tudor and Cashel Township.

When officers arrived along with the OPP’s Emergency Response Team and Tactics and Rescue Unit, the individual involved had fled the scene. Officers did seize firearms at the scene. They were unable to locate the suspect that morning.

No injuries are being reported by the OPP.

The suspect attended the Central Hastings OPP detachment later that day. A 24-year-old resident of Marmora and Lake Township has been charged with spousal assault, assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, breach of firearms regulation – store firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The accused was not identified by police to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing in court in Belleville on July 13th.
