North Hastings Hospital’s COVD-19 assessment centre is now accepting walk-ins and pre-booked appointments.
The testing centre is open from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday to Friday at the Hospital on 1 Manor Lane in Bancroft. Home visits are also available for those who are unable to get to the Hospital and for groups of people like at a workplace.
North Hastings Hospital Manager Tammy Davis explains a screener will be at the door when you arrive at the Hospital. She says they will try to do the swab test on the spot but if they aren’t, they will figure out a time when you can come back.
To book an appointment, you need to call 613-332-2825, extension 6222. Davis says while walk-ins are available, it’s suggested that you do call ahead to make sure you won’t have to wait.
“An appointment may be given immediately, or a number may be taken, and the assessment centre staff will call back to set up times for groups or requests for community swabbing,” it says in a statement put out by Hospital officials. “Please remember to bring your health card. All people tested will be notified of their swab results by phone.”
Davis says all other needed information will be provided when you call the Hospital.
