Bancroft’s BIA is planning their Shake the Shield motorcycle rally, and it could see lots of money coming in for local businesses.
That’s according to Executive Director of the BIA Jody Didier, who says while she isn’t sure how many bikers will come out, it could be a lot.
In 2015, more than 1000 bikes attended the BIA’s show and shine. Didier says the motorcycle events will now start to take on their own identity and split from the Wheels, Water and Wings Festival. Bikers this year will take part in a poker run that stretches across Hastings, Haliburton and Renfrew Counties.
Didier says this means it could result in a huge economic impact for local businesses.
Didier says a big rally like this is also a great chance for neighbouring townships and counties to work together and build a great relationship to help local business. She says she’s reached out and received interest from Madawaska Valley Council, and is glad to see that council members are interested in it.
The rally is scheduled to take place July 6th, 7th and 8th. To find out more about Wheels, Water and Wings, click here.
