Motorists driving through Bancroft are advised that construction on Hastings Street North starts today.
The construction starts at 7:00am Tuesday as the sanitary sewer line in front of the IDA Pharmacy is being repaired.
Manager of Public Works Perry Kelly says the street will be barricaded and marked to aid traffic flow with as little disruption as possible. He has both lanes will still be open, but just shifted to the east into the parking areas across the street.
As for pedestrians, Kelly suggests crossing at the courtesy crosswalk just south of the pharmacy and then to cross back to use the lights at Hastings and Station Street.
While the construction is set to be wrapped up later today, Kelly is reminding drivers to allow a little extra time to get to their destination during their drive.
