Bancroft residents fined for hunting without licences two years in a row

Two Bancroft residents have been fined a total of $4,500 for deer hunting violations.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says each man was fined $1,000 for hunting without a valid licence in 2016 and 2017. They were also handed two year hunting suspensions. On top of that, one of the men also pleaded guilty to carrying a loaded firearm on an ATV, and tagging a buck with a seal that didn’t reflect the time and date of harvest. The deer was seized because of it.

The MNRF is urging you to report natural resource violations to its tips line by calling 1-877-847-7667. You can also report them to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS.
