Environment Canada issues weather statement calling for freezing rain and snow

UPDATE 1:

Bancroft could be hit with freezing rain or snow late tomorrow into Wednesday morning.

That’s according to Environment Canada, which has issued a special weather statement for the area. Meteorologist Mitch Meredith says you should be ready for winter weather.

Environment Canada says the area from Haliburton through Bancroft into Renfrew could be hit with up to 15 centimetres of snow by Wednesday morning. The weather agency also says the freezing rain could last for several hours. Meredith says you need to pay attention to the forecast because of it.

Meredith says a winter storm warning could be issued for Bancroft if the forecast changes. These types of warnings are in effect in Haliburton and Algonquin Park.
